Bay of Fires Art Prize

Our work began with a shared sense that time doesn’t move in a straight line but folds back upon itself, becoming the currents of tide and season. On the northwest coast of Tasmania, autumn creeps in: sharp air, clear water, and a familiar blue. We feel it before we name it. Each return holds memory, yet something has shifted, the rhythm altered, the pattern not quite the same. Ceramic vessels on a precipice; their forms are steady, but the painted patterns drift, like the ocean, like memory. As we move around them, the image spirals and time becomes rhythmic, a layering of time felt, a brief embrace held in light.
